THINKING BIG...
For Terminal Gods, the ‘Death of the Mainstream’ is a moot point. They’re carrying on regardless: behaving – outrageously - like a band about to enter its ‘Imperial Phase’… but in 1984. If you imagine Ian Astbury (without the American-Indian wolf-child nonsense), with Annie Lennox’s hair, fronting Duran Duran, but with Depeche-Mode era Vince Clark producing, then you’re kind of in the right ball-park. Befittingly for a band carrying the mantel of an electro-pop super group, bassist Katie Haley-Halinski is clear that Terminal Gods want to be big:
“I think there's been a concerted band effort on being a kind of 'whole package'. It's not just music. If you want to get noticed, the music and the video need to grab and hold the bored dude on his laptop at five in the morning, as well as any promoters/music industry types surfing around. Waiting for a fan somewhere to upload a cover-art-and-mp3 thing isn't enough.” (Halinski)
Reference points, however, are irrelevant. Everyone knows that the “New Gold Dream” of Eighties pop has been shattered, not because the records don’t still sound great, but by association. Asda, B+Q, Homebase: so many of the records from that era have become the soundtrack to the kind of Sunday morning suburban hell to which they were once the antithesis.

The Last Of The Western Heroes Ride Again
Everyone that ordered a copy of Lessons In Fire should now have it firmly planted on their record decks, thanks to you all for your faith.
Like the first single (which is now sold out) Lessons Is Limited to 250 7" and is flying off the shelves (our living room floor) almost faster
than flashback records is willing to sell us those cardboard mailers to send 'em in.
So, what's the news then?
We've got a few home turf shows coming in the next month. Firstly, we're supporting NME/Artrocker darlings The Chapman Family next week, which is
pretty cool. You, our loyal and devoted following, are expected to attend to make us look good less like misfit scumbags and more like the hyper-successful
rock and roll machine we're masquerading as. Once you've got over the tension and high drama of that shindig you can join us for a wind down the following
week at Club Roadkill, where you can let your (greasy) hair down and throw the kind of shapes that haven't been acceptable since your grandfather lost his virginity.
In recording news...
We're currently deep in negotiations with top engineer, producer and guitar thrasher Gordon Young. All being well, we're going to lure him down from his Northern
and with his arcane knowledge at our side make a new record. It's not the (occasionally) demanded LP just yet, but it'll be a meaty EP for you to stick your teeth (or whatever
else) into.
There's going to be some other important shifts in the Terminal Gods political landscape announced soon, but to all things a season and a time to every purpose under heavens.
Fucking Gratzi
Sorry to all you Terminal Disciples for the long delays on everything, from updating this website to getting the single posted out!
We trust that you will all be pleased to hear that everything is now back on track. The new vinyl and new shirts are here at the Divine HQ
and those that haven't already been sent are ready to be posted out. We'd like to issue a huge thank you to everyone that ordered their
copy in advance. You didn't have to, but you did, and it enabled us to spend a bit a bit more on doing it properly, both in terms of
recording and pressing. We're already at work on the next release, which is due out around the time of our second birthday this summer.
Also, a huge thanks to THE ITALIANS. As you've probably noticed from our endless promotion (gloating) we recently did a few
dates in Italy. We had an enormous fun and would like to say thank you to those that made it happen, especially Marizona and Koppa and the Horror Vacui crew
and Annalisa, Switchblade and Pierro and the Moonlight team. Thanks also to everyone that came to the shows, especially the small crew that travelled to
party with us in Cesena on the last night - you know how you are.
Since Koppa had to do so much driving he never really got the chance to prove that he could out drink
even Katie Halinski, so we'll all be back to Italy in early/mid 2013 to give him a fair chance - and maybe even play some shows.
Keep your eyes out for more release and live news, there'll be plenty going on from day one of the new year. Once again, a huge thank you to you all,
TERMINAL GODS
VIDEO RELEASED! Single...delayed
The Lessons In Fire shirts and badge sets arrived at Terminal Towers today.
The vinyl is in production but due to the pressing plants huge demand over Christmas
is still suffering from delays (who says vinyl is dead?). We are intensely grateful to
every single one of you who showed faith by pre-ordering the single and effectively
helping us fund its release, please bear with us a little while longer and we will
make it worth sure its worth your while.
A slightly more postive note, Screen Three have finished work on the video. Here it is:
LESSONS IN FIRE ON PRE-ORDER. TERMINAL GODS GO GLOBAL
The new Terminal Gods single "Lessons In Fire" b-sided with "The Card Player" is now available to pre-order. Due to be shipped
at the very start of November. We've shot a video for the track with our friends at Screen Three productions, but you'll
have to wait for that. In the mean time, here's a bit of B Side to give you a taste.
Please do pre-order it, it goes a long way to us actually paying for all this stuff!
We're also doing some shows accross Europe before the end of the year, including Norway and Italy. Click the "LIVE"
tab for more info on that. We've got more trans-global stuff lined up for early next year, including the enevitable
trip to Das Fatherland.
Stay tuned.
No news is good news
Nothing too exciting to report. We've got a lot brewing under the surface though. We're hard at work on our second 7"
as well planning for a return to hard gigging in the Autumn.
Please hold the line.
PROMO VIDEO RELEASE, INTERVEIW AND A BIGGER BADDER DRUM MACHINE
We've done it! More specifically, Andy Oxely at Screen 3 Productions has done it:
Please feel free to share it around, the song it the A side from our recent 7" release and we hope you enjoy this accompanying piece of filmic delight.
We also recently did a short interveiw from Rockulus Maximus webzine: it's basically a pretty open ended ramble by
all four band members, but here it is: HERE
Lastly, we recently stripped away the last remnants of modern computing from the Terminal Gods live show. The drums are now
provided by a three stage rack of vintage hardware, a full biography of which will be provided shortly for any die hard Terminal Nerds.
PROMO VIDEO TEASER
We're shooting a video for our last single (Electric Eyes) on Saturday 28th of April (this month) at the Dusk Till Dawn
in Archway, London. By shear luck we've been stumbled accross by an unusually talented filmic wizard and he's agreed
to conjure up some visual delights for us.
Here's a teaser of what we've got coming, edited roughly together from some test footage we took at the last show...

Some reviews of the new single...
"...full of youth, passion and speed. The lyrics are perfect, the atmosphere is great...
It doesn’t matter where you are – in a club, in a car or somewhere deep inside city suburbans –
there’s no doubt you will be impressed by Terminal Gods."
Philip Petroff, Gothic Rock Russia

"The track beats along at a tasty pace throughout so while is slows for some verses it never loses a sense
of its constant rhythm and it's run time of 3.45 minutes is perfect to be memorable without becoming stale.
The influences are clear, there's a lot on post-punk and post-punk revival sounds and while it never transcends
such trappings, it also distinctive enough to not be simplified to just another "XXX" band... 8/10 "

"God Child’ and ‘Electric Eyes’ both have big guitars joining electronic beats in an onslaught of that crucial 1980s power snare.
The Cult, The Chameleons and Joy Division all spring to mind upon listening"
Martin Vacher, AAA Music

"What's not to love? ...the big dipper up and down rhythm never fails, and the daft chorus is designed to be hollered happily.
There’s also humming life in the crammed grooves and some fine bass skulduggery."
Mick Mercer

Before we let you go, here's some nice video footage of an unreleased track (Kiss and Change) from our show in Liverpool Street last month. Cheers to Jakesan UK for the upload.
Updates from the Divine HQ
Release News
The Electric Eyes/God Child 7" is due back from the plant this week and will be sent out as fast as possible.
If you pre-ordered a copy, it'll be sent out by the end of the week. Thanks to all of you who have done so, as it
allowed to take the hit and put the record out on shiney black vinyl and hopefully set a precident for our future
releases.
Although not directly related to the single, our first bit of press from 2012 has landed. In his Music In 2012
Mr J. Cridford of The Yorker writes:
As for new music, you’d just have to stop off at Terminal Gods. Emerging from a Goth scene that has enjoyed renewed popularity of late, this quartet practically burst with enthusiasm and have enough hooks to catch half the ocean. Sometimes unwieldy, their songs threaten to spatter and spill over in a riot of colour that belies their shadowy uniforms; debut single ‘Electric Eyes’ is a perfect clash of Johnny Thunders rock n roll attitude and the thoroughly English allure of 80s Brit-Goth, knocked into shape through half a dozen months of gigging, rehearsing and general tomfoolery. Now building a considerable following, why not mosey on down to their next Leeds show at the Library, 4th of February and see what all the fuss is about?
Live News
Things have got off to a flying start this year with an *ahem* memorable headline performance at London's Buffalo Bar.
Despite an excellent start, the mid point of the show saw the total melt down of TG's drum computor, leaving the band
completely without percussion. Fortunatly, German Efficiancy saved the day and Plastic Autumn's E-Drummer Dirk Wellborn
stepped in to save the day. Here's a before and after...
That just about wraps it up for now. Our next show is in Leeds on Saturday February 4th with the excellent Cold In Berlin. See you there!
Salome Shirt Sold Out. New merch and record release news coming soon...
This is just a quick note to say that we've now sold out of the first run of Terminal Gods T Shirts.
The "Salome" shirt design was produced as a run of 50 shirts and will not be reprinted - a big thanks
to everyone that bought one; they have officially just become collectors items.
Those that didn't get a chance to buy one, take heart and hang not your head in the despair of the untimely.
A new shirt design is forthcoming and will be released alongside our next single, pencilled for release at the
end of January. The recording process is already under way and things are looking set for this to only be available
as a physical release in the form of a 7" vinyl record (although a downloadable version will be provided for those too lazy and/or
stupid to already own a record player.
Promoters interested in putting on a Terminal Gods show in February
or March 2012 (particularly outside of London and in Europe) to support the release of the single should get in
touch asap.

Some good (even if we say so ourselves) live audio and shock gig announcement.
Firstly, a massive thanks to everyone that came to this Friday's gig supporting Pretentious Moi. Especially
Vicky Fenbane for putting it all on! We got some bloody lovely audio from it, including the first ever
performance of a new song: "Constrictor". Download it here:
Terminal Gods Live at The Nambucca, London - 21/010/11
And here's a video...
Gig Announcement:
In other news, we've confirmed (at the last minute) a cheeky live set at The Hobgoblin in Islington (on White Lion
Street, opposite Angel Tube) this Tuesday because its an excellent rock pub and they asked us to. We'll probably start
kicking off around 9pm, although we'll certainly be lurking around before that drinking so please feel free to
come down early and join us.
Cheers,
TG HQ
4th October 2011
The first away game.
The band are back from Leeds after a very enjoyable gig. We'd like to say a huge thanks to everyone that came
along, as well as to Paul and Howard for putting on a superb night. Thanks also to Unholy Racket for some great
photographs and Pyromancer Jack for some equally great quality footage.
19th September 2011 (4am... and eternal)
Another post-match break down.
Well, what a busy week! Gigs two weekends in a row! A massive thanks to those that came to either show and
an especially large cheers to those that came to both! Kudos to Alciun and Fenbane for putting on a great
night at The Hobgoblin in Islington: A great venue that, in the future, could really fill up the gap left
by the Dev. We suggest you go and have a drink there as soon and as often as you are able.
The Hob gig was by far and away the most fraut one we've done so far - we
managed to set off the alarms not only in the venue, but in the flat UPSTAIRS (no regrets) and Maisey also succeding in
writing off his guitar half way through the second-to-last song, rendering him unable to take part in the
closing number of the set (taking it to the shop from some TLC and some red hot lovin' with a solding iron).
Anyway, despite the hickups, we hope you all enjoyed yourselves - it's
all rock and roll anyway right?
We taped some of it, so we'll let you know when that's ready. We got some rather nice footage from the Kentish
Town show but the audio came out real nasty - we'll edit up something pretty to look at with some more listenable
sound recordings and make it available on "You Tube" as soon as its ready.
That's all for now, over and out.

Cheers again, more audio.
Thanks again to everyone that came and jived, boogied or even did the mashed potato at our gig this weekend.
Here's a download of the audio. You get a lot of bass and not as much guitar as I (the lead guitarist) would like,
but it sounds pretty bad ass all the same...
Terminal Gods Live at The Finsbury, London - 20/08/11
17th August 2011
First gig over and done with! Audio and video recordings online.
Firstly, we'd like to say a big thankyou to everyone that came down. We had a great night and you made it for us.
Thanks are also due to Max at the St Moritz for putting the show on.
We recorded the show and have edited up a listenable quality "bootleg" for your listening (dis)pleasure.
Download it here:
